Agreed with the tax changes to the game. A shame that we can't dynamically produce the tool tip with respect to the current tax rate.

Maybe it's the assistant tax consultant in me speaking, but I think "Increases the income of the city by +X" would be a perfectly accurate description. Remember, you are using an income tax to get money from the cities.

I for one agree's with this, the current tooltip on the merchant is kind of misleading.

I think saying just "up to" is enough. I mean it is really obvious that tax affects your income of gildar.

I don't think that wording works for the layout of our tool-tips, we want to keep all numerical information in line together column wise (it makes it much easier for players to read) so adding two words in front of the numbers wouldn't work...  I could add it to the descriptions, however, even then we are trying to go away from explicit numbers in our improvement descriptions. It avoids redundant information (since the numbers are above anyways) and makes them not have to be updated every time we tweak a number a little bit.

So long story short: I like what you guys are saying but need to think of a different way to say it

I see the issue and currently the tutorial would need to at least tell new players that this is the way it is represented. Once we understood this the system it works just fine. But if players do not take the tutorial then at least a load screen reading telling the player would be great. But we don't want to overload the system on these things.

I would go for "+2 gildar to city income."

The generic point of taxes makes sense as you take a percentage off the city income. Of course I'm just throwing out ideas.
