[0.980][Bug] Burning Lands Not Cleared

I am pretty sure I killed every single mob in the Burning Lands. One thing that was odd to me was that the Fire Lord Boss (the one with a name) came out of the zone and almost raided one of my towns before I took him out. Could it be that because he died outside the Burning Lands, the zone is somehow not clearing?

Also, he disappeared before combat, leaving only two fire elementals and a bunch of fire snake. Not sure was it because of some army size issue. I still get some trophy to put into one of my towns when combat was over.

PS: Loving the new map options.

EDIT: There is a quest tracker for this - Kill Dellin the Pyre of Man. He's the one whose army I defeated outside my town while he disappears into thin air. Heart is at my capital. Looks like this wasteland is not going to be cleared.

I had had the same problem in the previous version.

He sort of followed me home

Move an army into the bad land and find the 'Spawn point" he moved off of. It should be un or lighlty defended

Move a unit onto it - there may be a couple of others as well.

The laaand should change

Be preapred to send in pioneers for the city sites - before yoru neighbors do.

I have never had a wasteland cleared, ever, in any version of FE.

Oh I killed the elemental lords and every single army in their zone but it never completed the "Kill X" quest... I did however get the trophy in my capital like you did whenever I slew one.

Which was rare because often they did disappear and I know the AI didn't kill them.

Sometimes when everyone died their ZoC disappeared but the land did not change...

If it was meant to be retain the unique look (crystals and the like) but merely become "fertile" then the issue is that elemental lord ZoC turns lands fertile the same as a player's ZoC so their lands are always fertile to begin with (and make excellent colony spots...)

I actually managed to clear an air-related one. Killed one of the biggies there (not the dragon). Strange thing was that because that was my first time, I never knew I would get a trophy, which I didn't at that time.

The whole land became somewhat green (for kingdom player), it would still retain some of the crystals and decorative scenery though. I would guess Burning Lands will turn green with quite a bit of stones and rocks strewn all around. Clearing wastelands is so awesome, get a big bunch of loot and exp, and a whole new plot of lands with so many resources all around. Hope this bug gets fixed soon.

Did you guys engage the boss mob in combat? Mine disappear before combat started. I was wondering whether it was this or the out of zone reason that cause the bug. Will try finding the spawn point.

You only get the trophy for killing the elemental lord himself. Killing the last little baddie should remove their ZoC and in theory "heal" the land.
