[0.951 Bug] Corrupt save file

Saved the game last night before going to bed and when I wanted to continue the game today, the save file came up corrupt. All the AI opponents have disappeard aswell as all my units and 2 towns which I've recently conquered from Gilden.
On the empire tree they sort of still show up as green squares, if you click on them the game will crash to desktop after a while
Game was on a large map, with 8 opponents on Challenging, turn 264 with 4 opponents left

Things I remember that have happened in those 40 turns are
I completed 2 of the Dragon Statue quests.
Kraxis got eliminated by an AI player
Resolyn (AI) eradicated Altar
