Something that should be worked on: Auto Battle versus Manual.

Sorry first post. I just started testing a couple days ago. I don't really know the game very well so I entended on getting some play time in so I could get my feet under me.

My newest game will not allow me to manualy fight mobs. It auto fights them. I can't for the life of me find what go changed "in the settings I'm guessing". So that in itself is a problem. However, my real problem with that mechanic is that I was loosing fights I know I could win with ease if I could manually fight.

Now I understand that the game AI can never be as good as me in some regards but I'm guessing some people out there will not want to manually fight everything. For me though, at this point it would be mandatory due to the fear the I would lose a fight that I know I could win. Which makes the option to do one or the other meaningless.

I too hope auto-battle will understand to win the same fights, my biggest problem with it comes when you are running around with a spellcaster, they usually die to everything.

It is not reasonable to expect auto-battle to produce the same results as managing tactical combat yourself unless there is a large disparity in strength - even then, the auto resolution will tend to apply any damage to your weakest units while you can choose the order of engagement if managing the battle yourself. Most of the time you'll get much better results yourself but, if forced to fight a stronger opponent, the random number generator will occasionally deal you a win you couldn't possibly achieve yourself!

@ Jmiddleton I am not expecting it to do the same as I do in auto-battle, I am just hoping it will understand how to walk decently up to enemy units and attack them instead of wandering around not defending itself against ogres (Yes I lost auto-battles, reloaded, then manually just clicked on the one enemy troll each turn, and won with 50% life left).

Also hope quickbattle gets slightly better at defending the weak units so you wont lose your army because you don't want to deal each combat manually because it takes forever.
