Bug 0.95 unbreakable tribute treaty and missleading AI offer

the AI offered me a tribute treaty in the way: we offer you a tribute treaty and some gildars. but now do i have to pay them tribute and can't even break the treaty or declare war? what the heck!?! please make this text more clear and it cant be that you're not allowed to quite a tribute treaty, it's your decision if they are pissed off of you.

EDIT:

hope its right now. the AI offers tribute treaty where you end up to pay and it works like an infinite non aggression pact. so no chance to break it.

I'm pretty sure that you don't have to pay gildar per turn - it is an up front expense. I'm also pretty sure that the AI was giving YOU gildar to make a treaty with them. Doing so prevents you from declaring war for x turns. I'm unsure what x is... In any case they typically do this prior to expansion efforts near your borders to prevent you from attacking. It's actually pretty smart !

I had a similar experience where I was offered a tribute, no strings attached I thought - free money.  However, afterwards I could not order that fractions units out of my lands when they trespassed.  I had not agreed a non-aggression pact with them and none showed on the treaty list.  I could still order other fractions out of my lands. I had been misled and there was nothing for me to cancel!  I reject all offers now automatically.

@CdrRogdan, so then the minus gildar in the net income callculation is not true? are you joking?

yes they gave me gildar for a tribute treaty, but i have to pay them tribute and not how they wrote, "we offer you tribute". And it's no non-aggression or peace treaty, so no 50 turns rule, there was no X turns or anything like that. anyway, tribute treaties should at least be breakable by declaring war, but in my opinion just in general just negativly affect the relation.

Sorry I just thought you were confused. Keep in mind the wording for accepting should be 'demand tribute' for you to gain and 'offer tribute' for you to lose. If this did not occur and you were being penalized a negative value value in gildar per turn when you 'demanded tribute', you have found a bug, and should report it as such (move this to FE Support via the edit drop down and rename it .95 Bug).

This happened to me too. I ended up moving my army next to their capital until they declared war on me.

Happened to me too, I can confirm that the wording on the dialog option is EXTREMELY misleading, it very much sounded like they were offering me tribute (I am bigger than them), and I did try reading it fairly carefully because it was a bit confusing on a quick scan.

Does anyone know how to cancel the treaty? Is it just a matter of time or do I have to start a war?

Just got it again. The text says:

 

'We would would (sic) like to offer you tribute. If it pleases you, we would even be willing to give you 69 gildar up front.'

 

If you say yes then you end up paying THEM tribute, not receiving it from them. The text isn't just misleading, it is plain wrong (as well as having would repeated).

This is what was talked about.

And I agree, it is VERY misleading, on the flavour text it looks like he is halfway surrendering to my might, and want to pay me money.
Besides, there is NO point in them popping up this trade, since any player with any sense in they're head would accept this at random (Im not even at war with Umber, they just want my money...)
