Hi:

I would really appreciate any help the community would be willing to give me. For the last few days I have not been able to play E:FE do to a start up error. I start the game and I get this message:

"Login failed. You may have missing or stale registry data. Try running Fallen Enchantress with the command line parameters /username "myusername" and /password "mypassword" (replacing the values in quotes with your actual username and password)."

First off I am not the most computer literate person around so please be patient with me.

When it tells me to try running FE with my username and password where am I running it from?

the error is that the game can not download the latest data blob from the stardock servers, and it uses the email address and password that you use to log into the forum.

If you press 'Esc' instead of clicking the popup, it goes away and you can continue to the game.

Which is probably a bug, but it helps when you can't login to the Stardock servers.

I'm having the same problem, and if I click escape everything closes the same as if I clicked to close the error box so that's not working for me.  Someone else posted an alternative answer indicating to 1.)right click on the shortcut 2.) choose properties 3.) in the target line where the file location shows add my username and password to the end of the files name, but a box pops up that won't let me do that either.  I'm totally stymied.  Any other answers?

Same problem here. I believe it's because I changed the password of my Stardock.com store account.

Tried to run the game from the comand line (as suggested by the error message) but when FE starts to fire up (black screen, mouse cursor turns into a sword) it soon displays a "String not found" message.

So now I'm accessing both forums.elementalgame.com and the Stardock.com store with the new password and both work. It's "just" the game that's not working.

Any ideas?

thx

When I changed my password, I changed the shortcut for FE which included the new name and password combination, then after I successfully started it up once, I removed the extra stuff and it still worked.  Worth a try.

had the same problem.  hit ctrl tab when the message appeared.  it opened up the ovelay menu that has a log in options. I changed my password there to my new stardock password and the game started up with no problem.
