I wish for a spell called "Deplete Mana". When cast it cost 400 mana and it depletes 200 mana from an empire of my choosing. This will enable more practical empires (focusing on units and not as much on spells) to level the playing field a little.

Really? You're implementing spell creation? If that can be properly balanced, that would be completely awesome!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing Toby is talking about modding, not creating custom spells on the fly as a player in the middle of a game.

I believe the spell creation is via mods, not in-game, just so we're clear.

At 0:48, is that a new design for death shards or a special tile in a wildlands?

A nice variety of anti-magic spells would be cool. I know that in Dominions you could have a Drain kingdom which grants everyone magic resistance. Maybe a kingdom committed to anti-magic could have highly magic-resistant units at a cost of mana generation.

I'm getting vibes that you just described Gilden. But I guess we'll know in 48 hours.

 

Also let me just say it is stupid how closely I've been following the forums. I don't know if the devs are planning dramatic reveals or little cliffhangers in the way this game is developed, but I have been counting down the days to April 12 without meaning to. I haven't cared this much about a game--much less one that hadn't actually been released-- since I was in middle school. Really.

@myosin2p - Me too... Havent been this expectant since MOO III (and we all know how that turned out). This game will be GREAT! I stopped playing Skyrim because I have more fun with a beta....

Toby said something that would be really awesome. How about a spell designer you could use in-game? Just like how you create custom units in-game, it would rock to be able to make my own spells!

Well, at least I'm not alone in checking these forums every morning before work and evening when I get off.

Off topic, I stopped playing Skyrim because I have more fun with Skyward Sword, and the Wii in general.  Hadn't expected that, but my  $200 Wii gets more play than the $400 PS3.  Of course, neither gets as much play as my PC - the home of real games.
