Playing 0.86 this afternoon and ran into three bugs in quick succession.
First bug: I took a stack o' doom into the Desert Lands quest (whatever it's called) and not only defeated Torax but also wiped out every last unit in the quest territory. However, the quest green border won't go away, and the game won't let me build outposts in there (claiming it's someone else's territory). Note that the quest area is in the northeast corner of my territory and is surrounded solely by me and by ocean.
Note that I had earlier in that same game completed the Winter Lands (or whatever it's called) quest, and the green border went away, and I was able to colonize and put outposts in there just fine.
Possibly related bug (though this may be something different): I went back to the save point before I attacked Torax, and the quest HUD is gone from the left edge of the screen, even though I went back to Game Options and verified that Quest HUDs were enabled. (Cleared it and reset it just to be sure.) On the other hand, I went back and reloaded my save point before I launched into the Winter Lands quest and noticed that there were no Quest HUDs back then, either, though I know they had been present earlier in the game (I ran across both quests very early on and had to play for quite some time before I had a stack ready to go in to either place). And, as I said, killing the Winter Lands boss caused the green border to vanish; it just didn't happen for the Desert Lands quest.
By the way, can I say again (as I did elsewhere in this forum) that the whole Quest Territory concept is brilliant? It's one of the first really new concepts I've seen in 4X games in some time.
Second bug: I sent a hero and two mounted longbow units into a level 9 (epic) quest, where they faced five slow-walking statues. The hero got killed (I wanted to see how he'd do against them and didn't get him away in time), but the mounted units finished killing the statues without any injury at all. I got the victory panel, got the panel telling me the injury the hero had sustained, went back to the main map...and that entire army had vanished. Poof. No longer in the Army HUDs. Gone from the face of the earth.
Third bug: I started a game a day or two ago, and found that the 'yeoman' unit (which is my on-foot longbow archer) showed up immediately as an available unit to build. However, when I brought up the unit design, it was an unarmed human, and the character representation was headless. (I deleted the character type and redesigned it once I had longbows in that game.) What reminded me of it was that I just had a similar problem when I went to start a new game: my custom sovereign (Salem) showed up as a headless, plain avatar. When I exited the program and relaunched it, she showed up just fine. I suspect now that that the earlier problem may have been a similar situation, i.e., starting a new game w/out exiting and relaunching the program.
For what it's worth. ..bruce..
