I barbecued an invading AI army on what had recently been their home turf using Pillar of Flame. Glorious fire damage resulted. A Scout in the enemy stack went to zero HP annnnd... he didn't die. In fact, the Scout starting healing HP the next turn.
A subsequent round of tactical combat took care of the matter whereby the Scout got the fiery death he deserved.
