Noticing that archers are losing hard in autobattle in battles that they should win easily.  I'm wondering if there is some sort of calculation bug.

Irane+ 3 archers at full health shouldn't lose to 1 common bandit and one dog.

Tested this out a bit, I can confirm: archery attacks do 0 damage in autocombat.

They were doing damage just fine in tactical combat.

Thats a pretty large bug.

(probably what they were tweaking with earlier today, before they decided to launch as-is)

Maybe they can make a quick .86 build to fix this?

More testing- it is not just shortbows, the ignys longbow also has this problem.

We'll check it out.

We are planning on doing a 0.86 maint update tomorrow anyway to get in all the fixes and tweaks that we wanted to get in today but didn't make the deadline.

I've got some AI tweaks that didn't make it in (tactical combat stuff).  I'll ask Charles to look at the auto resolve to see what changed there. I'm not familiar with that code so I can't say why it's doing what it's doing.

The other thing I'm anxious to get in is the XP distribution update which favors more XP when there's more units (0.85 doesn't really reward facing a large army but rather looks at how powerful the top units is).

For the record ... a Darkling Archer attacked my 0 attack pioneer.

... Pioneer won.

Ahh so this is why I got 1 experience for killing 3 wolves!

Yea ... and getting only 3 experience each time I kill lord Markin is a bit of a let down.

Just +1 to this bug.  Had 2 stacks of archers, each of which could 1-shot the enemy stacks, lose to a bear and a cub.
