Desc:

- During AI moves my sov. was attacked and the game switched to tactical combat

- During the tactical combat, I clicked on the character portrait to have a look more at his stats

- At the point, the reward message box poped up telling me I found some books

- I was then prompted to pick a new research choice (the research tree was overlaying the tactical combat).

- When i closed the research option the tactical combat has soft locked and would not process any more turns

- I then hit escape to go to the options menu and on "Return to game" was put back into the strategic view (So it had ended the tactical combat, both units were still alive on the strategic view)

- At this point, there was no way to end the turn and everything was soft locked.

- I decided to try and reload to an earlier auto save and the game crashed during the load
