Labored though the update and was pleased when I started a 1v1 game with the AI. However as the game progressed, it was apparent, even at low settings, that my computer was having issues and eventually the program shut down because of a OOM issue.
I managed to get past it because hey, I play other programs just as buggy, if not more.
But then I found a few things out that were really troubling, and that someone on the dev/corporate end needs to take care of.
- I have a channeler in a city with an army. I want to use a healing/regeneration spell, so I cast and click on the city center. A targeting window pops up without names and says cancel or confirm.
- Crowding! My god! If I make a BIG map, why is it that ALL the other factions are within a hairsbreadth of me? While I can understand Kingdoms being somewhat close to each other, Empires, however, should be clustered on the FAR side of the map. As a result, I find that I can't play a game with more than 1 opponent because even on the easiest setting (Novice) the opponents become bloodthirsty within 10 seasons.
- Dead goodie huts. Still a problem. I don't have as many, but they still are a pain.
Maybe my issue is form the same kind of numbing slowness that creeps up as I continue to play, but if that's the case, then you guys should REALLY work on that as well. While I don;t have the most recent technology, I do have a decent system that was more than capable of handling this game when I first bought it in June of last year.
