[1.19c] OOM Error

Crashed after pressing end turn, but right before regaining control. The autosave is the most recent (save every turn).

  Thank you for this.

  The error we are fighting is a game within a game issue.  When you end a game (either by starting a new one or by reloading a save) all of the resources aren't being cleared up.  So you lose memory each time this is done.  It could be avoided by exiting war of magic and restarting, but of course thats a bad solution.  We need to find out what data isn't being freed and get it released.

  In your game, for example, you have started 5 new games and done 14 reloads since starting war of magic.  The game is still storing some data from your first game, which is where all of your memory is going.  Which is also why some people see the issue (those that start new games without exiting war of magic, or who reload frequently) and some don't (those that play a continuous game without reloads).

  This is our top priority, thanks again for your help in providing the info.

Ahh, that explains why I don't run into too many oom errors - I always exit and reload.

That does not happen to me. Try changing your settings to auto-save each turn and always do fresh quits and reloads. I don't think I've ever seen a corrupted save game on my machine (maybe one recently) but nothing to panic about.

I already auto save every turn. What usually happens is I save a game, and then try to re-load and it crashes. Then when I re-start Elemental and try to re-load any recent save (from within, say, about 10-15 turns) it crashes. What is strange is if one save gets corrupted, all the recent saves get corrupted. If I try to load a save for the same game, but from way back (100+ turns) it usually works, but who want to re-play 100+ turns?

 I have scanned my hard drives (SMART, chkdsk, and other) and no problems there. I am also playing with a few mods, expanded factions, adventuring content pack, and updated weapons, but they don't seem to cause any problems. All my main issues have to do with save games for the most part. (Previous to 1.19 my saves would corrupt, but still load, although with an empty map. Now they crash when corrupted.)

Anyways, I appreciate Stardock's support and everyone's help!  Keep up the good work!

I exit  & reload, but see enough OOMS that I have several pages of posts about them since beta 2, and I do play continious games ie start elemental, start/load game and play to OOM, and on average after every three OOMS I re-boot th computer (FROM NEED not desire otherwise the system BSD reboots)
