I think this falls in the category of "Random Events" that people are pushing for.
But I wonder - If you can teleport units to random tiles with some spell mechanics instead of selecting where to send them, and specify whether things happen in friendly or non friendly or unclaimed territory, I wonder if you could make quest locations where you enter and it causes the magic flow to change, casting a spell? Would that be scriptable? Maybe have it cast a random terreforming spell at a random tile nearby?
It wouldn't be turn-by-turn, but with the adventure tech spawning more locations, it would add maybe a new danger to entering areas.
