can you recruit magic heros?

I have yet to recruit a hero that can do magic how do I do this, im on my third game and so far I still cant find one. Also I had a son born and it said he had the same magic as me but he has not grown up yet how do I get them to grow up.

Use your sovereign to cast Imbue Hero on the hero
Your son has to grow up first. I think the age is 25 but could be wrong. When he comes of age, he will spawn in your capital and should have the same traits as your male sovereign. If female, will have the same traits as mom.

Even if you cast "Imbue Hero", the hero will not be able to cast many spells. They will most likely lack Intelligence. They need 8 INT to cast Return and 19 to cast Teleport.

It does seem like a lot of work to lvl up your heros to the point of being able to cast most of the useful spells. I guess this is where making babies becomes important. Having children is the most efficient way to produce more casters without spending time leveling up champions. Am I wrong?

This is one thing I hope they have in EFE.

I want to be able to find or hire Druids, Elementalist Wizards, etc.

Not too powerful of course but something to strike the fear of Gawd into people that say Constitution is a useless stat for their sovereign.

Low hit points plus a few fireballs = danger Will Robinson.

Why would you want to use magic post 1.1 update??

In all my games since 1.1 update, i have not used 1 single combat spell, ever! The reason being that by the time i have any decent combat spell, i am well past the point of actually needing it!!!

There are plenty of hero's with special combat abilities, these could be construed as 'spells' and make up for the destruction of magic post 1.1 updates.
