I tried to update my game to the newest version through impulse (right click the game->update), and encountered a chain of errors. Here is what I tried:
Error #1: "Your registration for this product is not valid. {new line} Would you like to edit your registrations now? Yes/No"
Clicked yes: I now see a table with the following titles 'application' 'email address' 'serial number' 'expiration date'.
There is only one line in the table: 'Elemental: War of magic', no Email, a serial code of 5*6 hexadecimal characters (excluding the '-') and under expiration date I see 'invalid'.
I tried to 'update registration', by entering my email address into the empty email field, but then I get
Error #2: "Product Registration Failed: The email address or serial number you entered is invalid. (ref. 204)".
Since the Email I inputed isn't faulty, I can only blame the serial. This is problematic however, since I bought the game digitally and don't have anywhere to copy the serial from.
Additional information:
Current version: 0.0 (1.09 if I'm not mistaken, but that's what it says). Note that I have played the game several times already, the last time being Nov' 25th 2010.
On the Stardock.com website there's an option to request serials for owned products. I tried it (after validating again my email, which I was asked to do for some reason), but in the mail I received there was no mention of Elemental... Here's a quote of the relevant text from the email:
Customer Name : [my name]
E-Mail Address : [my email]
=-----------------------------
---------------------------------------=
----- Stardock.net Account ----
UserName : [my username]
Email : [my email]
----- Product Serials ----
Product Name : Impulse
User Name : [my name]
=--------------------------------------------------------------------=
More information would be supplied as required. I *think* the problem lies with the impulse engine, as it seems it isn't aware of me owning the specific serial in question.
Thanks in advance,
Gazing Rabbit (yeah, that's the full nickname, deal with it).
