From what I've read, Stardock's pretty good about not overworking folks/giving time off, at least by industry standards.

We're having Pizza tonight at my house.  Theere's a deadlock issue with the threads.

AI thread and main thread both accessing player data in a critical section.  We may have to delay until tomorrow.

They already get cash though.  I'd go for both.

OK, pizza at the boss's house isn't quite cash, but it is more top-down commitment than most corps provide. Giving yourselves time to get enough sleep would be a good bonus too. Marketing and PR should be following up on production, not driving productive people crazy, and especially not driving delivery schedules.

Means I might get some sleep tonight!  Cut short last nights to get one more game of 1.09e in.  And am spending most of this day to complete what has turned out to be a most engaging game.  Am excited for the updates, but after playing the game for 18 consecutive days, I still haven't worn the fun out of 1.09e.  Thanks for the fun, and thanks for all the extra effort you've already put into this update and beyond.  Enjoy the pizza and the decompression time with the team.  If you solve the threading speed bump this eve, then great!  If not, we will survive.

 

PS: When's the champagne moment?  Does it come when v1.1 stable is released?

We're having Pizza tonight at my house.

I left work early to play...I guess pizza might be a good substitute. White Elk makes a good point--I guess I'll get some sleep as well. Black Ops is fun but I was really looking forward to 1.1. Now I will have to resist the urge to check ever hour or so....I, too, will continue with the fun of 1.09...Black Ops can wait.

Ok, it's going to be tomorrow.  I promised the team I wasn't going to work them crazy hours.  So we're calling it a night.  We think we have the problem fixed but it takes about 90 minutes to build/stage/publish a build and it's already 8pm our time.
