Whilst renaming your heroes is all well & good(in fact it's ace!), I would like to see customization extended to personal information aswell. Whilst this isn't particularly a major fault, it is does detract from an overall feeling of immersion as you tend to frequent character details screens whilst playing & in turn are confronted with an incongruous, unmodifiable history. Of course, I'm struggling to come up with interesting background details for my custom Sovereign in general, so I'd probably forgo the opportunity to write creatively for each & every entity I acquire in a game, however, the option to do so would be nice. Even if you could simply reduce the text count to zero to eliminate prescribed titles & sometimes, previously unheroic exploits.

Also, character icons remain static. An appropriately altered representation of each character with respects to weapons/armour would be quite welcome.
