Please add a highlight (border colour etc.) to the Empire Tree for the currently selected city or unit.
I go through my idle cities each turn with the help of the Empire Tree. I click on each yellow-bordered city and select the new build and/or train order for it. Then I click the next idle city on the Empire Tree but I have often lost my place in the Tree by now and have to mouseover several city icons to find it again. This is compounded by the fact that the city name only appears on mouseover in the opposite side of the screen, on the city card. I have to jump my gaze back and forth between the far sides of the screen and be careful not to move the mouse away from the city icon at the same time. It would help if I could drag and drop the city card next to the Empire Tree.
You have lots of cities in the later game and the Tree is quite long and the city icons are not distinctive and the yellow highlight does not always disappear after adding orders to a city. It is easy to lose my place in the Tree. Highlighting the currently selected city would make this problem disappear and would make playing the game much more convenient for people like me who use the Empire Tree a lot. I have tried expanding the worked-on city on the Tree to show my place but this is pretty inconvenient. It adds many unnecessary clicks and the plus sign is a very small mouse target.
I am aware of the hotkey for next city. I am aware of the next city UI button. The hotkey does not work on my laptop. PageDown is behind a Fn modifier key and Elemental does not recognise the combination. Why can't I define my own hotkeys? This should be basic game design in 2010 and it has been an official Twinkie Denial Condition (Un-configurable Controls) at least since 2004. The UI button is a miniscule mouse target on a 17" 1920*1200 gaming laptop screen. It is tiring to use it all the time, about ten times a turn is quite common in the later game.
