One small, but significant irritation in the UI is the order in which actions are listed. From a purely logical viewpoint, wouldn't it be better to have the most important actions for a specific structure or unit appear first? Two examples:
- Pioneers. Instead of having "Found City" as the first and most prominent button, I actually have to find the teeny weeny "more" button and have to go into the second page of buttons? Isn't "Found City" THE action for which pioneers are built?
- same with resource buildings. There's only two buttons, granted, but wouldn't it be more logical to have the significant action (in this case "build claim") up first?
Then there's the issue with how mouseovers and cursor changes work in Elemental. I don't know if it's only my imagination, but it seems to me I have to actually mouseover an object to have the cursor change shape or the mouseover to display a unit card/terrain info, as opposed to the more usual way of displaying info on stuff in a tile. I've had it happen to me numerous times that I wanted to attack something in a given tile and the cursor didn't want to switch to the crossed swords until I actually went on targeting the enemy inside the tile. Irritating. Oh, and the info on unit cards doesn't sync up with the info in the stat bar. Try mousing over injured units, for example. The health bar in the UI say something like "23/64 HP", but the unit card says "64/64 HP".
