I really can't see most of the issues people on here are having, I played most of last night (about 4 hrs) and 5 hrs today without a single crash.
I played all the way through the campaign today and the only issues I ran into were in CH 7.
1st problem:
the ship from the jungle chick (can't remember her name, not important enough to look it up) shows up attached to the ship your get from the general. not sure how this is supposed to work, but it shows up as being a PASSENGER of the first ship, not as part of the first ship's army (or would it be fleet). when I tried to unload it, it showed up fine, but then wouldn't form back up with the first ship when I tried to move them both into the same square. I'm not sure if ships can actually be combined like ground units, but it seems counter intuitive if they can't. so, yeah, all around weirdness at that point in the game.
2nd problem
other people have commented on it: the desert guy not finalizing his quest point. the wagons don't spawn and the quest marker for the next step in the quest (queen porcupine or what ever her name is) dosen't pop up like I'm sure it should on the top right. moving on isn't really a problem as the queens quest point still operates correctly with the queen refusing to join you, but I can't say that I remember a quest flag popping up for me to move on to the obsidian wall. (I just kinda figured things out that I needed to go there)
3rd problem
landing at the beach will produce multiple plot window pops (the one that talks about the obsidian wall) if you land multiple armies from the two ships (if you detach the jungle queen's ship like I talked about in problem #1). just to spell it out, you land 1 army and you get the message, then you land the second army and you get the same exact message that you got for the first one. alternatively, if you load your army back up onto the ship and then debark them again it will also pop multiple times.
4th problem
no monsters spawn on the fire shard despite the quest pop talking about how you had to defeat the fallen forces that occupied it. also, there never really was an obsidian wall, the quest pops talked about it but it's just some black mountains on either side of the fire shard. so, yeah, I defeat the imaginary forces and meet up with my other forces that came through the desert .... thing is that #1 I haven't actually combined my forces as my desert party is still picking their asses on the other side of the barrier (so I'm thinking that this quest pop should launch after I move my forces through the barrier.) and #2 I kept my champion with the desert party (not a big deal, but the quest dialog should probably be changed to something more neutral until my armies join up and it's guaranteed that that my champion is in one place.
5th problem
this should probably be listed before #5 but oh well. after I unload the ship(s) I get this screwy bug where in I cant end the turn until I waste my ship(s) movement points. I can't move other units, I cant make any city changes that would advance a turn, I cant skip the turn manually, I cant split units. nothing! so I have to sail my ships back and forth 4 squares to advance the turns, thing is: this only applies when I have the ships in the vicinity of the fire shard landing. if I ship them off to the anywhere that they wont effect the fog of war (ground units can be lighting up the area but not the ships) the problem goes away for the most part.
general weirdness
all the other nations have no territory, they have got a palace/castle thing but the only territory they directly control is limited to the ground it's sitting on. I can litterally build a city 3 tiles from their castle and take over farms/mines directly adjacent to the tiles that the castle sits on. this is kinda weird to me because it virtually means that none of the kingdoms control any land. I would think that this is on purpose but the last kingdom (the general guy) has got a level 0 settlement with the nation border being correctly drawn (as in controlling the are within a 2 tile radius), so I'm thinking that the other nations are supposed to be more developed and control their lands.
maybe I just didn't pursue building up my city far enough (only went to level 4 before I stopped caring) but it seems really weird that I never get access to crystal farming. there is multiple fire shard locations and one earth shard that I can think of off the top of my head, but I never get to the point that I can start an outpost on them and harvest them. this just really seems odd to me.
why have the option to build an outpost with a horse ranch when we cant research any techs and thus can't get access to mounting up units on horses? I built an outpost on that site (wasted like 15 turns getting a settler to it to start a town) only to say "WTF?" after a bit of thought.
why don't I fight any golems from the fallen's pit mines in the desert, the quest pops make a big deal about it so I expected at least a single mini boss from them if not having to fight one for each mine. instead we get nothing. it's an oddity so ....
in the jungle there is a location that talks about an oil well, it's right by the entrance from the desert, I skipped it on my way through but then went back during chapter 7 and it was gone. on the cloth map it showed up like a resource point, so what the hell was it?
