I'm seeing most of the other bugs being reported here, including slowness later in the game. I have to use a Small world or it just gets unplayable, and the DX Error when I alt-tab is also a major annoyance. Here's some other issues I've seen.
Possible Bugs and/or Feature Requests
1. My sovereign (female) married the first hero that you get in the game. He later died. I was not able to get the Proposal action to appear on my Sovereign again after that. If this is a "feature", it is not a good one.
2. The space bar is not working for me in Tactical Combat to have a unit pass their action for the turn. I have to click on the actual button.
3. Why are there two Teleport spells to research? I didn't see a difference between the two other than the title of the spell. As a balance issue, the first one should teleport the caster only, and the harder to get spell should teleport the entire group.
4. Speaking of balance, in my opinion the summon spells are available too early or the creatures they summon are too powerful. You can very quickly acquire a summoned Fire Giant which at that point in the game makes most encounters trivial. The same goes for Familiars, Ice Lords, or pretty much anything you can summon up. I eliminated 3 factions right off the bat with a small group of 3 heroes and 2 summoned giants. Since NPCs rarely have magic or missile weapons or enough combat speed to go 2 spaces then attack, you just have to time the giants so they hit first, kill the first row, then move back one space so the next row has to move up 2 and doesn't have enough speed left to attack.
There's also no real price to pay for summoning up these guys other than having to regen the mana you just spent. A suggestion for balance would be that if the creatures are summoned Strategically they reduce the caster's available Essence while they exist, or you can summon them on the Tactical screen for a high cost of Mana for one combat only. Another option would be that you can only summon a "type" of elemental if you also control a corresponding Shard. So you can't summon a Water Elemental without also controlling a Water shard.
5. A nice to have feature would be a real popup window when a city finishes everything in it's production queue. I often just don't notice the little popups on the right side and it's harder to keep up with everything once you control multiple cities.
6. This is another opinion, but the quests aren't really very interesting and don't really seem to lead to combat very often. I don't think it's much fun to move onto a goodie hut and just find a +1 combat speed ring. That's a pretty powerful item for not really having to "earn" it by defeating a creature guarding it.
7. On tactical combat, the mapped area for actions for the mouse cursor is not quite right. It's too easy to accidentally click on another square when you're trying to attack an opponent who has moved into the corner of their square due to a previous attack.
8. Some method of hotkeying certain spell castings would be a great addition to tactical combat. Maybe the R button or something similar to "recast" the last spell cast by that unit.
9. Being able to pre-set your unit formations before the battle would also be a nice feature, and is something that could become available after being researched in the Military tech branch.
