Also, in the save file, if you go to the bottom left area of my kingdom, to the left of the city there, you'll see a scout who is running in place
Did you have more enchantments active than your remaining essence would allow after the imbue? That seems to be the case with these sorts of crashes.
I may have... I wasn't aware that essence affected the number of enchantments allowed... I'll check the save.
