Stardock obviously has their own ideas about what needs work the most. Let's use this thread to give them a sense of what their players find the most important.

List three items, either specific bugs, performance issues or game play features. Do it in 5 words or less for each. Keep it direct, keep it simple, keep it readable. If you have more to say, put it at the bottom of your post.

1. An interesting, worthwhile magic system in and out of combat.

2. More special abilities/resistances for units.

1. Changes to the combat system to make damage less spikey and unpredictable. Probably won't happen in September due to how much that would change the game.

2. Caster oriented items (like +Intellect staves) in the core game, rather then just as mods.

3. A healing oriented spellbook.

 

Also obviously bugfixes for things like shards.

1: for a game called War of magic: magic is underwhelming. 

2: Champions should feel like champions. Currently I have pretty much stopped using anything but the ones you leave in town. + to food or what have you. A stack of peasants should NEVER be better then a champion. NEVER.

3: Shards not working right in tactical should be sorted out.

1. The ability to NOT auto-resolve combat.

     - Irritating when my sovereign gets his ass beat in a one-on-one encounter that I could win if it went tactical.

2. Optimize the system resource use and the ability to TURN OFF unit/tile animations (that apparently are a HUGE resource hog)

     - Really no reason my triple core, 8gig memory machine runs this game like ass. 

3. A magic system that benefits from specialization rather then "pick every book and learn every spell". 

     - Hate to beat the MoM horse to death but having a limited selection of books that you can spread out or specialize (pick several of one type).

Go into the options and change tactical battle threshold. Set it to the minimum and you'll always get asked.

In fact, I'm adding change that default to my list of wishes. This gets asked SO often!

1) combat system changed to have dmg more smooth and results less randomic

2)improved magic system to have spells more reliable and fun to use

3) sovereign and heroes reworked to have fun leveling, more balanced stats and a better role in the game

3b) infusin, essence and champion casters reworked to be more effective, possibility to have some champion mages without detroying a sovereign and needing a complicated work

1) Making champions not worthless.

After all that, there might be a point to tech trees other than civ and war!

- performance improvements

- complete redesign of unit stats, magic calculations etc. roll-within-a-value sucks. combat speed sucks. more stats are needed

- an easy way of telling which tiles are walkable (i may have missed this, if anyone can help i'd love to know). i'm sick of clicking on a tile 5 times before noticing that one tiny corner of it is water.

1. Stability and Memory leaks fixed (Which consequently should improve overall game-performance).

Performance, AI, and content enhancements, plus: 

1. More customizability of controls, especially hotkeys, changing mouse buttons and inverting axes.  I think I went through the entire campaign without touching the keyboard once.

2. Better UI, hard to be specific here, just simpler and more intuitive.  Playing find-the-pixel for an action so common as unloading units from a village is an example that springs to mind.

3. On tactical maps, highlight the mouse-over square for both selecting units and choosing what to attack.  Show card for BOTH the selected units and the target.  Also, if your turn isn't over yet, and "undo" command for the last action would be great.

1 - Out of memory error fixed

2 - Better spawning of resources on start

3 - More options in editors

 

for #1 aside from the bug the thing I would actually like to see most is a quick start new game with current options thing so you could keep randomly generating until you had a decent starting spot.

for #2 it would be nice if you started or had the option to start in a place with at least 5x5 tiles open to build and at least one food, metal, gold, tech, arcane and either horses or wolf tiles dependent on faction (you know the kind of spot you would actually want to invest some of your essence into beginning your rule in)

for #3 mostly more weapons and armor styles in sovereign creation and more clothing/color options for both sovereign and unit design

 

lastly having the town creation ability's show the 5x5 and open building area when you go to create them would be awesome or if they just cleared the area for use.

2: Performance

3: Diversity in spells or perhaps expanded spells to create more variety be that global or simply within your own kingdom.  (I hate to bring up MoM, because that has been done to death, however it did global enchantments really well.  From beneficial spells to detrimental ones and the ability to dispel enemy enchantments.)
