Possible Shard bug

After saving (and exiting game, not sure if it is related), and came back after loading my previous save, I all of a sudden noticed I have 2 random shards near my settlement that was not there before. I did not research additional techs to discover more shards yet so that can't be the cause. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Also if you know how to post a picture (ie screenshot) on this forum, please let me know.

Ya, they do seem to pop up for no reason sometimes. I wonder if the AI has researched a tech that is causing them to pop for everybody.

This happens to me specifically after loading up a saved game. I've got a game a few hundred turns in that, because of multiple "Out of Memory" errors and crashes, has a half-dozen or so new shards that have appeared.

Note: it doesn't seem to be restricted to just my "manually" saved games; this happens with the Auto-Saves as well.

I thought Stardock buff up the number of shards on the map at first in patch 1.06. In the previous patches shards were rare to come by. Now there are sometimes several near each city taking valuable space. Sometimes the shards tend to bunch up together next to each other. Ex. There are 4 earth shards next to each other in 4 adjacent tiles forming a square.
