This same crash happens to me while running in window mode and clicking off the game.
Once i click back into the game it gives a DX error and crashes out the game.
Note: It doesn't do it every time. The game seems to pause where it is at when I click off the game but maybe something is still trying to run? When I click back on it, the animations try to catch up. Maybe make it move into the game menu and pause the game when in background.
