My first time playing through the campaign, the game crashed about 40 turns in. It got down to about 1 frame per every 2 seconds, and then it crashed.

Help me, guys! The game is unplayable like this.
I have constant framerate issues, degrading performance, and just now and Out of Memory crash on turn 322.

Do we know what could be causing this? As soon as I launch the save, I get around 4 fps.
