I don't know if this exists, (i pre-purchase the game, but it never ran on my comp so i gave up on being in the Beta) , but I think it would be nice to have tabs on your spell book.  HOMM had 5 ways to look at your spells, 'all' 'fire' 'water' . . .

This would be  good first step, If you the spell you want is earth you open the earth tab and have max 1 page to turn (Max 2 clicks) rather then hunting thought the ~6 pages to find the spell (Max 6 clicks).

I was thinking the Elemental Spell book could have some pre-defined tabs such as those from HOMM, but more importantly could have 'blank' tabs. When you're looking at your spell book in the research page you could drag spells to the blank tabs,  and then they would be assessable from both the main book, but also from the tab.  Inside the tab you could change the order of the spells to suit you're needs.

I could see having a 'status effects' tab, and a 'healing and status cure' tab, and maybe a 'buffs' tab in battles, on top of the one tab per school of magic.

It just seams to me a good way to ensure the users is never more then 2 clicks away from the spell they want. (if they are willing to put in the time to presort . . . or perhaps  'most commonly used' tab could auto generate....)
