[Crash] DX Error: Invalid call

Was playing the usual Kingdoms game when all of a sudden my game crashes. I get an error message that pops up saying:

"DX Error: Invalid call"

No dump file. I believe the root of the problem can be found in the debug.err file since there is a line (887) that says:

DebugMessage:  Invalid call

I get a dozen dx error messages a day.  I think the devs have said that is usually a bad graphics card or buggy driver.  There can't be as many bad cards in the world as there are beta-testers getting these errors  --  -- and I, at least, never have a problem with anything except Elemental.

Did this happen out of the blue, not following an alt-tab?

Any memory dumps that were generated would help us to look into this.

Nope - no alt tabbing happened and no dump file was generated.

I can get the invalid call any and every time I alt-tab or ctr-alt-delete (betas 3 to 3C) even with latest drivers. I guess from your question this is not linked to the OPs post, but the files are in the following link if it helps: https://forums.elementalgame.com/389397

So.  Alt tab or alt-esc, then back in.   Dx-error and out and it is dead & gone.  Considering how long the system is busy with memory cleanup or whatever when I exit normally, the dx-error seems to be about the fastest way to actually get out.  So, its a "feature", not a "bug"

I get it anytime I walk away and leave the game running.. have not yet figured exactly how long it takes but when i come back game has crashed with that error...
