I fought the terrorized village and my champion leveled. The level up screen appeared immediately after the last death animation. The cursor was the movement cursor from the fight not the feather.
I would have provided a screenshot, but I am apparently unable to figure out an easy way to do that. If anyone can point in the right direction regarding screens I would be much obliged!
