[0.806][3A][Gamplay] looks like a bad start

I have started a new beta 3A game, with 8 players on a small continent. Here is my starting position

 

and in cloth map

As I have beaches, I may be able to build frigates but it will takes some time.

At turn 46 I am able to put an harbor in the build queue. I needed to snake my way to the beach. aNd on turn 64 a ship was built.

Can't you use the lower land spell to cut a path?

It is faster to get a transport than a lower land spell working on moutain ...

BTW, raise land and lower land spells require controlling and earth shard in beta 3A

Bad??? Are you kidding me your Citys Exclusiveness makes it perfect to defend against anything. I'm jealous, granted it would be nicer if you had some more resources.

 

8 Races small map, jeez you couldn't ask for a better location

I am supposed to play on a single continent map, not on islands.

looks like your LOS is a little buggy though

Since I am playing with a directX 9.0b card (5 1/2 year old) with lots of graphic options disabled, I am not worried about that

Actually, here's what happened:

There's a typo somewhere in the XML that determines the seed maps to use. If it doesn't find a seed map to start with, it will actually generate a map from scratch.

I can sniff a fractal algorithm with my EYES.

Hopefully you don't use your eyes for sniffing all that often
