Spell of Mastery?
I would like to know how the development team has implemented the spell of Mastery and the winning condition that will occur if such spell is casted. I don’t know if the in game mechanism is finished and coded yet, but I would like to expose a concept that could be interesting.
Spell of Mastery : A such powerful spell that will allow the mage to ascent in a god-like being, and thus, become almost unstoppable, instantly winning the game.
So, if someone try to cast such spell, I assume that other empire will have some time to react, and do everything they can to stop the mage.
As a victory condition (and game stopper) I would strongly suggest that we put some kind of mechanism to inform everyone that the spell of mastery has been casted and if the mage isn’t stopped, he will become something unstoppable.
So, casting the spell should :
1) Inform everyone, and all intelligent human players + even the AI should bring all their attention to kill the mage before he stop the spells.
2) The mage should be physically incapacited, and become unmovable while casting this almighty spell
3) Casting the spell should have a % of depleting each shard that the mage control each turn, and drain 1 essence (and 1 mana) per turn, stopping all the enchantment held active by him.
4) Any heroes that have received the gift to cast from his channelling ability, should lose it.
5) If after X turns, the mage isn’t killed, the spell should success and he should win the game. If in the process he is killed, the spell should stop, and any mana or essence lost should be presently destroyed. The mage may be even really killed in the process, so trying to cast this spell should be dangerous, at least.
