I noticed that the little buttons near the very bottom were greyed out, and also the "researching" panel on the bottom right was also greyed out.  I assumed that this was maybe because I didn't have a "research-building" or whatever - i.e. it's too early to begin research.

However, I did notice if you click the large button on the left side of the screen, and then click Research, the game crashes to desktop.  Sorry if this has already been posted!

EDIT:  Ah okay I noticed that I didnt have scholars researching yet (no library or whatevers).  But still the game did crash to desktop when I clicked that button.
