Research: Refined X

Is it just me or are the refined researches not working?

This is maybe the third or fourth game where I received the option to make a research in refined training (and why not? Its orange = good), but in one game I made the refined house research four time to have it show a fifth time (in my tech research, completed tab, it has never showed up!), and now in the third or fourth game the same has happened with refined training and refined housing (again). After I researched refined training I go to the tech tree and it is still one of the options that can pop up during research.... strangeeee.

I had the refined farming work better sometimes - not always. I haven't actually compared the before/after to know if refined housing is the same way.

The way that I read it was based off of my GalCiv experiences. That is, each refined tech increases the associated ability by a percent. So refined housing may only add +15% or something, so ti won't appear to be a wholly massive increase. But, then again, I could be totally wrong : )

In my (short, unscientific) testing, I found that the refined housing/farming/education techs did work, but only started doing so (or at least appearing to) on the turn after they were discovered. So, when I picked the refined farming breathrough, my food meter stayed the same, but once I advanced a turn, it increased a little.

Were you guys able to research it like 3-4 times?

It didn't appear to do anything and not being in the research history was fishy.

I researched the farming one several times in my last game, and each time it increased my food total... after a one turn delay.  I think housing works similarly.

There is a one turn delay on increases as far as I can tell as well.
