I was getting a CTD every time I tried to play the game. Now it works fine.
Create a shortcut on your desktop and under "Properties" add /w on the Target line (after the last quote). This runs the game in a window.
You can also set windowed mode by editing the prefs.ini file manually.
I just tried that now but it's still crashing for me. Looks like my problem is something else altogether .
