something i have been thinking about is ways to get XP. as far as i know, you can only get XP by killing stuff(i may be wrong about this). i also think that you should get quest XP as well. i am hoping that there will be quests as well that do not result in just fighting things, but maybe making tough decisions. things that might affect the game world itself.
Lets say you have a settlement and it becomes infected with a disease and everyone starts turning to zombies and begins to attack other settlements that are closer. now everyone isn't turned at once, but at a slow rate of maybe 5 citizens a turn. you have 2 choices, you could burn the settlement down, which is the easy choice or you could try to find a potion or magic spell scroll that can get rid of this plague. this would be the long road.
now you have to juggle whats the best thing to do in this situation, time is ticking on your populace, the faction closest to you is getting pissed because zombies keep attacking their settlement and waiting to long may cause war(not to mention that the zombies carry the disease and each time a settlement is attacked there is a chance of infection)
if you play this scenario a certain way, there will be no fighting at all, but i think that the hero going on this quest should get some experience as well.
what do you think?
