Partly insipred by RavenX's suggestion list: http://forums.elementalgame.com/365404 I have decided to create a list of all Elemental mods. There aren't very many yet (I could only find 3 ) but eventually I imagine there will be a lot of them, and it would be nice to have a place to see them all. This list will include everything, total conversions, map packs, graphical improvement mods, ones that just add one race or two, etc, etc. Hopefully when the modding section of the forums gets created, this thread can be stickyed

All mods will be listed in alphabetical order, sorted by type.

  • Created by: drakonfire
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/396149
  • Description: A mod set in the history of The Codex Alera seires, focusing on the humans and their struggle to rise to power over each other. It will feature new techs, a new magic system, and much more.

Dark Republic Mod [WIP]

Dragonlance Mod [WIP]

  • Created by: RavenX
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/379988
  • Description: Experience the Epic "War of the Lance". Play as the intrepid band of Heroes, play as your favorite faction to save the world of Krynn, or play as the forces of the dark Queen Takhisisk to conquer all in your path.

Dying Sun [WIP]

  • Created by: Wintersong
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/380223/#2593916
  • Description: The mod uses the rules of the Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition by Wizards of the Coast. It doesn't pretend to be some kind of total conversion mod due to: me being too newbie in the mod department (I'm looking at you too, AI) and fun factor being more important than proper implementations (as long as the mod stays in the D&D realm, that is).

Elemental Dee aN Dee [WIP]

Elemental: Expanded Edition [WIP]

Gotta Catch 'em All: Pokemod [WIP]

Master of Magic mod [WIP]

  • Created by: Raledon
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/394106
  • Description: Many players of Elemental also played Master of Magic and loved it, so this mod will bring MoM to Elemental.

The Lord of the Rings The Rise of Mordor [WIP]

The Scrolls of Penglai [WIP]

Sundered Lands [WIP]

  • Created by: Jharii
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/396212
  • Description: A conversion mod set on Athas, the world featured in the 4E Dark Sun campaign world.  Two factions, Defilers and Preservers, vie for control over Athas, a barren desert wasteland of a planet.  10 sub-factions ("races") will be available, with access to new tech trees, buildings, spells, units, etc. unique to each sub-faction.

Urak Future [WIP]

  • Created by: SolarBall
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/383033
  • Description: This mod idea is based on the game Lords of Magic. It is not an attempt to replicate the original game, though. Instead, it's based on a collections of ideas I've thought of on and off for a theoretical sequel to the game.

Race Mods

Doctor Who Mod [WIP]

Elf Race Community Project [WIP]

Fae Mod [WIP]

Lizardmen Empire of Cthulhu [REL]

The Undead Rising [REL]

Barranoid's Dual Wield Weapons Mod [REL]

Bugfix Mod [REL]

  • Created by: Heavenfall
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/398157
  • Description: The idea is to create a mod that doesn't add anything, but still improves the quality of the current patch. It is not intended to unbalance things, but rather supply the intended function (as long as its reasonable!).

City Stables

  • Created by: pasha_bigdog
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/396235
  • Description: This mod allows you to build a Stables in you cities, which give 0.25 horses per turn. Prerequisites are Tools Of War or Mounted Warfare and level 2 city.

Druid Mod [WIP]

Elemental: Grand Ambitions [WIP]

  • Created by: MagicwillNZ
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/389290
  • Description: Huge empires, huge populations, and huge armies. The game will be rebalanced for a more dramatic and "epic" perspective of building a kingdom. Much larger populations numbering upwards of hundreds of thousands of souls. If the engine can handle it and my meager skills allow it, there will be the kind of armies that Elemental was going to have and should have had. That is, thousands

Elemental: Magic and Blade [WIP]

  • Created by: Tasunke
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/389754
  • Description: Want a world of thousands of faceless filler mooks? Want that world also populated with hundreds of separate, interactive NPCs that are living, breeding, and dying? Then perhaps this idea/mod is for you!

Fishery [REL]

Forest Spellbook [REL]

  • Created by: w34sl3
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/395553
  • Description: I made some simple buildings for adding to the Health and Mana regeneration, which I felt needed a little boost. There are four buildings in all, one of each type for each faction. Each side gets one in their Military tech tree and one in their Magic tech tree.

Reworked Imbue Champion [REL]

  • Created by: thehandofzarquon
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/394101
  • Description: Instead of costing 3 essence and giving 3 Essence to the Champion, the spells now cost 5 Essence and give Essence equal to the Champion's Wisdom score minus 3 on the first cast and 5 Essence for any additional casting on the same target.

Royal Stables and Royal Kennels [REL]

  • Created by: hairrorist
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/396405
  • Description: I was sick of finding only wargs as Kingdom or only Horses as Empire.  The mount resources are so rare that it is very easy for factions to be completely unable to build -any- mounted units all game long.  These buildings insure that everyone will have access to some mounts without making them commonplace!

Theprofitclub's Mods [REL]

Tax Mod [REL]

Updated Weapon Mod [REL]

Skinpacks, Textures, Graphics, Customization, etc.

Ark's Magical Millinery [REL]

  • Created by: Arkenor
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/395048
  • Description: This little mod simply adds a number of hats to the game, for use by characters who want some head protection, but do not want to wear a hulking great helmet.

Arcane Power! [WIP]

Armors That Shouldn't be There Mod [REL]

  • Created by: Barranoid
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/393527

  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/391819
  • Description: This is a simple mod that adds in additional armour using assests from vanilla Elemental. All credit goes to Stardock.

A "Community of Heroes" Modpack [WIP]

  • Created by: James009D
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/392743
  • Description: A long time ago Stardock allowed beta testers to be inserted as NPC champions that for the ranks of today's armies, merchants, and universities. However, many of us missed that opportunity. This project is designed so that each player can enjoy the world of Elemental with the help of, none other then, the Elemental community.

Realistic Quendar Mod [REL]

  • Created by: Raven X
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/394301
  • Description: The Quendar in Elemental are a Race of Lizard Men, or a Hybrid Race of Dragon Men. This Mod adds realistic scale texture and really brings them to life.

Realistic Urxen [REL]

  • Created by: Raven X
  • Thread: http://forums.elementalgame.com/394683
  • Description: Textured with realistic tusks, veins, and hair. The Urxen are ready to rampage through your game of Elemental!!!

Sharper tiles for the cloth map [REL]

Terrain and Colors Mod [REL]

Weapon models [WIP]

Ok, that's all the mods I could find in a quick search through the forums. If you have a mod you are working on/will work on, reply here and I will add it to the list. Also, if anyone has a website set up for their mod, or a banner (not too big, please), reply here and it will get added.

Note: I will not add any additional tags. Either it's released or it isn't. I'm not going to put things like [Public Beta] or [Closed Beta] or version numbers or anything like that. DO NOT ASK FOR THEM.

RavenX, I'm not really sure if you are "officially" making your mod or not. I saw a post of yours when I was searching for mods saying that you want to create a Dragonlance mod, and you had some ideas down, but it was also a thread about modding in general. So if you want me to take yours down, let me know.

When the time comes I'm going to "attempt" one yes. Depending on how many Dragonlance fans we have around here I may even draft some people to help me if they wish, but, I'll be looking for people with certain skill sets. Mostly a Coder or two as that's not my strong point. I'm at least going to give it a try though.

Nice list btw. Good luck getting it stickied. I had to pull a few strings to get mine stuck. Not to mention this whole list thing turned out to be a lot more work then I bargained for, but that's ok. Anything to help out and make the game better.

I'm intending to create a race mod of "Fae" for the Elemental setting. I'll try to adapt traditional Fae folk legends to the setting as closely as possible.

For those who want an "Elven" mod I'm sure some usable assets will be produced from the project. I am not however trying to create Tolkien inspired elves in any form.

So you're saying I should bombard Kyro with PM's to get it stickied? I bet he'll like that

And you have to do way more work to keep yours updated than I do. I mean, there's like 3 new suggestion threads a day. I imagine there won't be many mod projects until next June or so, as we get closer to the final release. It is very impressive that you manage to keep it so updated

Quoting kyogre12,

So you're saying I should bombard Kyro with PM's to get it stickied? I bet he'll like that

lol No, not saying that at all. Actually Yarlen stickied it after Boogiebac said it would be useful. I think in order to get your list stickied you'd have to have a lot of Mods to keep track of. When the Mods start adding up though it will be a good idea and you might be able to get it stickied then. A piece of advice though my friend, if you're going to try to get a sticky and they grant it to you, make sure you plan on keeping up with it long term. I'm already planning having to update the Comprehensive Idea List when expansions for Elemental are coming out unless they use a separate forums then these.

Quoting kyogre12,

It is very impressive that you manage to keep it so updated

Thanks. The most work I had to do so far was when I had to reformat the list. I was using WAMP server and doing it in the same format as Kryo's Bug Roundup but WAMP server started having conflicts with other programs I have install so I had to go back to my old format. The night I reformatted the post it took me about 5 hours because I had to copy every heading and insert the hyperlinks manually. Kryo was a big help though providing me with some scripts and explaining how to use WAMP server so he deserves a lot of credit too.

Note: Also, if your list starts getting large you'll have to use a Text Editor or a Web server to keep the format correct. These forums have issues with copy/paste and excess HTML code can build up and cause problems in your post. One you may notice is eventually you'll have a lot of empty space at the bottom of your post and you won't be able to get rid of it. Then as you add new things that space will keep growing. You'll also notice eventually your spacing between headers will get out of hand and no matter how many times you edit the post it won't fix. This is from programming code you won't be able see that comes from Notepad and a few other text programs. I'm using a program called UltraEdit now as it eliminates all that excess code.

So I should bug Boogiebac?   haha, jk, jk

But anyway, I do plan to keep it regularly updated, once more mods start coming in. Just like my Twitter update threads, although those haven't seen much use in a couple months. I think Boogiebac is too busy

Also, thanks for the info about the size issues. I'll keep that in mind as the list grows.

I'm %100 sure they'll add a new section to the forums for it. Most likely sooner rather then later as well since some certain modding functions are already in place.

Completely agree. But what modding functions are already in? I haven't seen anything, and I've digged through the files quite a bit.

You can change the picture for what each faction has as it's symbol, and I believe it was Landi who showed us that backgrounds on cards can be changed. Those might be little things, but that's still technically "Modding".

All the .xml files can be modded as well.

I'm not bothering with much of anything at this point because we don't know how much is going to change. Around beta 3 I'll probably start working on it.

I've already got art submissions though from one of the artists who wants to work with me.

Ah, ok. I that case I did know about that, I've already started adding 2d art. I thought you meant there were some Stardock supported modding functions already in (map editor, etc)

I don't think there's anything fun about being conservative except maybe laughing at the poor people as most conservatives tend to be rich. They're conservative because they don't want to loose their money.

********Spoiler*************

I think he means only conservative Americans would like the series. Which I personally do not see. The American part, maybe because the main "world" the series takes place in is called the New World, and the gigantic (90% of people) old world where Jagang's empire lives is called the old world.

The only thing I can infer about being "freeworld" is a sense of anti-Nazi (Rahl), anti-Communist (Jagang's Empire) propaganda, and as far as "conservative" an emphasis on strong and healthy relationships (Richard and Khalan).

I'll try to be as transparant as possible. The Author could have been a tad more original, but basically there are the Nazis, the Soviets, agents of the Keeper(Satan) and everyone else. There is some funny stuff in there ... basically the main character's evil and estranged father is a magical Nazi emperor(who rides a red dragon), who main-character has to trick and kill to save his and Khalan's own life, and then he becomes the new Leader of Nazi Rhal-land (the people are magically compelled to obey), and he tries to get the people to think for themselves, live freely and peacefully, ect. The elite body guard of Nazi-land are these Red-leathered female dominatrixi called "Mord Sith".

Before you discover the land of Communists, however, Richard has to destroy the corrupted sisters ... backing up richard becomes prisoner inside a gigantic Convent. A Convent which is designed to train (and breed) magic users, and keep those within living far past their means (hundreds of years). Some of the sisters started a growing cult, who wish to bring the Keeper into the world, to make the world into a living hell. Richard has to stop them, most of the nuns don't believe him, and they end up destroying the Convent, which Jagang was going to use to rule as a near-immortal emperor of man. Alot of magical mishaps later, and the barrier is destroyed, leaving the whole rest of the world (which is MOST of it by far) able to invade.

And invade they do, because it was all taken over by Jagang, a powerful Dream-walker (explained later). His team's goal is to wipe out all magic (the irony of himself wielding magic to end magic is adressed, of course). Jagang's empire is essentially communist, and his homeland reminds the reader of a richly cultured nomadic civilization from the Mesopotamian regions during their time of dominance in the trade of spices and rugs. Its kind of like he has taken his nomadic tribe and created a Turkish empire ... only its gigantic, controls all of the old world, and it runs alot like the USSR. When he marches to war, along with his army of 2 million, his base camp consists of giant tents, akin with his heritage, he likes to take these tents wherever he goes ... only instead of consistin with the traditions of old, these tents, while an homage to ages past, are filled with riches and luxury. Meanwhile the Core-Army of Rhal-land is about 200,000 or so. Although the magical empire supposedly has more magic, which could help. Also, powerful magic users attract Jagang's "dreamsense" so any magic users that wish to not be puppets of Jagang must pledge a loyalty to Richard Rahl. In fact, as Dream Walker, Jagang can enter anyone's mind to control them, only he can sense magic-users far more readily. Only those with an oath of loyalty (and who follow said loyalty) are protected from Jagang. This however, is open to interpretation, so before the war between the New World and the Old World begins, some of the Sisters of Satan pledge a loosely interpreted oath of loyalty to Richard (in the form of preserving life). Because life is first in Richard's list or what-not. Second is truth, and third is freedom (I think). Anyways ... while I can't speak for the Author's originality, the way the story works organically, and pieces reappear later on to fit together ... its non-linear while still being linear, and I like that. Also fighting against a bigger enemy is always a draw.

To get the storyline straight, and to avoid (important) sidequests, first they defeated the Nazis, then Satan, and now are fighting (to not be enslaved by) an entire world ruled by a Totalitarian Dictatorship crafted after the former USSR.

Done. I prefer to leave the description blank unless there is something in the post for the mod that makes it absolutely clear. I don't want to make a mistake in the description because I have never read the book/played the game/etc that the mod is based off of.

Oh, and btw, in your thread you asked whether I (being the one who created the Barad-dur model) knew that I would be able to create buildings with the in-game editor. To answer your question, I did know that at the time. But what I didn't know (and still don't) is if I will be able to create Barad-dur as I envision it, since using the editor I am limited to the "pieces" that Stardock puts in. Also, at that time I had never UV mapped anything particularly complicated, and I wanted some practice. But I still haven't textured it yet because I want to know just what I can do with the editor before I spend all that time.

Sorry, just wanted to answer that, and I didn't want to necro the thread

say ... the Queen's forces also have loose alliance with several of the Dragon Owned nations, correct? Could I play as the opportunistic Greene Dragon, trying to build an empire out from under the shadow of the red dragon? (or is that a different series within Dragonlance?)
