So, I was thinking while wandering through vast stretches of forest and big seemingly empty mountain ranges...how come all of the resources and goodies are on plains? Likely for ease of exploration, but honestly I would like to see resources in forests, on the ocean so ships could pick them up, in mountains so you must send a special unit type to get them or build a special improvement next to it to get it...etc.
Honestly, having things like special honey only found in forests, special types of wood, encounters with monsters or long lost ruins in the woods makes sense...as does finding ship wrecks off the coast, dungeon caverns in the mountains, or GOLD in them thar hills.
Maybe it's a coding issue, or maybe just because it's beta this isn't in yet, but I'd like to see more than just large swaths of uniform terrain everywhere but the plains.
I'd live to build a city in the forest and be able to harvest more than just wood.
