When you've died in the game, hit escape, enter the main menu from there and start a new game, the graphics crash and burn. It all goes fine until the map has to be loaded up, after which there is simply nothing. A white cloud instead of a map. The interface was there, but not the map nor any other graphic representation whatsoever. The debug file (http://pastebin.com/f80a18b6) seems to disagree with the graphics.
