Hi all. I've been watching this game for a very long time. I'm one of those that has desperately hoped for a MoM2 type of game to emerge. Today I saw the email that the beta was released and jump right in. I love what I saw and I think this game will be amazing once complete. I knew that there wasn't going to be much to do yet, so I took that into consideration when compiling my list of suggestions/issues.
Cities:
- Need a way to remove buildings once they are constructed.
- Need a better way to visualize and control the production of units.
- Don't know what most the buildings are supposed to be doing at this point. More information would be nice, but I am goign to assume that more buildings and their descriptions will be added as time goes on.
Map:
- I'd prefer a slightly more opaque color layer for nations on the map. Other than the borders it is difficult to determine an areas owner by the layer colors. See civ4--but probably not nearly as opaque.
- Mouseover tile information rather than right click if mouse is left on a special tile.
- I'd like to see more variety in "special" tiles and resources on the map. Right now I see earth nodes, fertile land, water, mountains, and iron ore. Will we be seeing desert, swamp, hill, volcano, crater, chasm... or special resource tiles?
- Overlay city information better. What's the gold income? Time till next growth? Population? is queue empty ( think galciv type icon).
- Option to overlay per turn bonuses of specific special tiles (if they will exist...).
Gameplay:
- Will we be seeing neutral shops on the map? I'd assume so when the quests/dungeons phase goes in.
- Desperately need a way to control spamming the construction of new cities anytime it is possible within kingdom boundaries. Maintainence fees, increasing gold cost, initial population investment... something. All I did was place new cities in my new game and my gold income exploded very quickly. I didn't see any downside.
- You shouldn't always be able to retreat from an attacker. There's no risk (read fun) when you can avoid all danger.
Interface:
- Need edge of map mouse scrolling.
- Mouseover details of: gold/population information.
Sovereign:
- Any hopes of customization of portrait, character model (including females)?
- Detailed character/sovereign info popup/screen that displays your sovereign/hero/units with much more character.
- Much, much more options on level up. There are the obvious stats, abilities, traits, but we could also see interesting things such as mounts, pets, once per game abilities, etc here.
General Bugs:
- If you start a new game after quitting your old game the new game will start on the old games map... with old kingdoms still there.
