You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

kzin6

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Quoting Snarkotamus,

Still wasn't enough to retake 3rd from SkullSplitter, so I'll have to give it another year.

That 7th year did it.  I just spoke to SkullSplitter and he's only mildly pissed.  After all, he had....like 12 hours in the sun.

And I bought him a case of SkullSplitter.

Quoting jacklv,

That 7th year did it.

Only for a day, though. The score depreciation has kicked in and reversed the situation.

Never a dull moment in the Kzinti!

Honor and glory to all Heroes and warriors of the Empire!

Our domain has expanded over 50 million light-years, an achievement which the sages of the galaxy would have deemed impossible even just one year ago.  All t'kzintar across the galaxy deserve a share in the unparalleled honor of this monumental accomplishment!

In celebration of this auspicious day, the title of Hero is bestowed to Angus McNastie, Aww Nuts, Bluefool, Darth Evanesce, First Tiger, Lev Arris, Queen of Blades, Shindia, & TheWaryOne!

Great thanks to everyone who has helped make the Kzinti Empire such a resounding success!

Hey Silver!  Is this some new game you're talking about or are you speaking metaphorically?

in short, im a lvl 80 Tauren Druid (Feral Tank/Restoration- though lately I spend more time in Resto); I play too much World of Warcraft, but I'm having fun with it right now, and I don't let it get in the way of having a social life.

Ahh, quite addictive I hear!  I was very happy to see that Civ4 Complete (Warlords, Betond the Sword, & Colonization) was available on Impulse.  The expansions really had a lot of great content, so I've been mostly playing that the last few days.  I'm eager to get some multi-player going soon.  I know Jacklv has it now too....has anyone else here bought it?

It's been a while since I have been able to pull off this in a 500-planet map:

It makes me wonder if econ booms have different intensities.

Nice!  Always like hitting that 1 million net BCs point.   An econ boom should always be a 100% bonus to your economy.  You can tell from your econ graph that your econ would have doubled when the boom started.  I havent seen any variability in the increase.

Popped in to say I'm still working on my first giga map. It's 8 Apr year 3. I checked the score and was at 472,000. Not sure what kind of final score I'll get. There are only 541 colonies, of which I hold 540. Most are fully built up with max pops of 15B to 23B. i have around 10K 1/1 tiny hulls. Not sure if I should just stop building ships, and upgrade as many as I can each turn. Turns are getting awfully long. I got an econ boom and pop increase event fairly early that hasn't ended yet. Anyway, not doing to bad for my first giga.

Sounds, good...cant wait to see the final result Ferrel!  If the econ boom ends, you can always re-load an autosave to preserve it if you wish.  If you have finished the tech tree you can just do one massive upgrade and be done with it, just hitting end turn for a couple more years.  Check out our strategy threads over at the Core for lots of good info on mega-scores and the massive upgrade.

Thanks!!!!

I would have had another game to post today, but I made the mistake of playing V2.03.

Don't upgrage to V2.03, it makes things WORSE, not better. Here's what happened this time:

1) The Korath completely culture flip, the graphics go wacky.

2) The Drengins completely culture flip, the game freezes up.

Quoting Snarkotamus,

Thanks Snark, I was waiting to hear something definitive.  I won't.

The complete flip problems must be caused by the ghosts of dead AI.

Those events make it more fun.  Sounds like you doin good.

Have you decided what to do about the upgrade?  A one turn upgrade will certainly max military, probably overall score.  If you can't upgrade than many ships there are alternatives.

Sorry to hear that. I have not experienced any problems with 2.03. I have culture flipped the AIs with no problems. That was on a medium map though. This giga map, I extorted everyone.

I had 10K 1/1 tinies. I'm upgrading them piece meal, to 25/70, until I get to around 8K. Then I'll try a mass upgrade. I can upgrade around 100 per turn, and am almost to the 8K mark. If that doesn't work I'll upgrade piece again until 7K and try it then.

Gotcha.  Makes sense.  If you haven't already, might want to think about overbuilding anything that is not a farm, VRC or... my favorite...stock market.

Done that. Test score has me at 765800 on 8 Apr year 4. Did an upgrade, but haven't checked the results yet. I left it running last night. It was done when I got up. So it looks like I can upgrade at least 7300 ships at once.
